| Eainfall. Tho rainfall for 24 houra ending noon yesterday waa .455 in. The total for year to date ia 18.54 inches, compared with 13.12 inches for tho corresponding nericd of ;1923. Quail Island. J On Monday evening a party of instru- ' mentalisto under Mrs Gentille, of Chrutehurch. visited Quail Island and entertained the patients with a delightful concert. Items were also contributed by several of tho patients. Later in the evening at the request of tho patients Mr B. Demicholli led' a. spirited community sins. Cabaret Revue. Tho wintry weather conditions last night did B©t prevent tho Oddfellows 1 Hall being welt filled, when the Lei Cabaret Revue was given in aid of the funds of tho liyttelton Rowing Club. The revuo is a Bpa-rkling little entertainment produced by Mrs Yero Livingstone and a band of willing helpors. Tho "story" of tho revue seems to be written around the Chinese cabaret of a realistic looking Celestial, Hi Lei. Into the cabaret stray a party of tourists, and it i 3 in providing entertainment for the visitors that the different turns ore staged. The scenery and lighting effects are, of course, Oriental. Tho costuming ia very pretty, although it might be hard to explain how maidens in Maori dreas might bo found so far afield as in a. Chinese cabaret. However, everything went with » ewing; tbere was good einri&g, ctevor dancing and bright dialoguo, while the work of the orchestra, under Mrs Yele Livingstone, added very materially to the success of the production. Tie performance will be repeated, to-night.
