TRAMWAY BOARD ELECTIONS.

CANDIDATES NOMINATED. Nominations of candidates for seats on tho Christchurcb Tramway Board closed at noon yesterday, with tho rosult that contests will take place in respect of all the sub-districts with tho exception of tho Avon-New Brighton, and tho Hills-Suranor sub-districts, The election is .fixed, for Thursday, the 27th inst. In tho following lists "C" represents Citizens' Association's candidate, "I," Independent, and "L" Labour. Following are the nominations received:—-

Central Sub-District. For the five scats in the Central Sub-district the following were nominated: —■ J. K. Archer (L.). Geo. T. Booth (C). C L. Carr (L.). C. E. Cross (I.). 1 J. A. Fleshor (C). J. McCombs (10. G. T. Owen (L.). 11. Pearce (C). C. Bonn (L.). A. S. Taylor (C). E. W. White (C). Biccarton-Fendalton. For one member to represent the Eiecartou-Fendalton sub-district the following were nominated: — H. G. Livingstone (C). John Wood (I.). Spreydon-Addington. For one member to represent the Spreydon-Addington aub- district the following were nominated:— F. B. Cooke (L.). D. Sykes (sitting member). Mr Sykes was nominated by Messrs E G Hawkins (Hoon Hay), Frank 0 Mathieson (Addington), Geo. Weir (Spreydon), and A. J- Deyell (Sproydon). AYOHrNew Brighton. For the Avon-New Brighton sub-dis-trict tho sitting member, Mr W. J. Walter, was the only person nominated, and has been declared duly elected. HiUs-Sunwar. The Hon. John Barr, M.L.C., the sitting" member, being the only person nominated for the Hills-Bumner subdistrict, has been declared duly elected* Tho only members of the present Board not seeking ro-elcction are i Messro J. W. Beanland (Central) and I s. A. Stories QUcearton-Foadalton).
