An effort is being made to secure for the Auckland War Memorial Museum some of the articles saved from JI.M.S. New Zealand. This matter was mentioned at the meeting of the Council of the museum last week, and a letter from the Prime Minister was read. In this it vras stated that some of the objects obtained from the NewZealand were to be placed in H.M.S. Dunedin, the Dominion flagship, and others were to be retained for'display i'u the future on some vessel.which may be given the name of New Zealand. There would, however, be other articles left for distribution to various museums, and in this 'connexion Auckland's claims would not be overlooked. , The Couueil decided to enlist the support of the Navy League in obtaining some of these relics for the Auckland Museum.
