Two Mexicans have been sentenced to death for the murder of Mrs Evans last August, [Mrs Evans was the widow of a former president of the Bank of Lois: don. in Mexico., After hot husband's death she supported herself on her ranch, despite constant harassment t>y the Mexican Government. Her persecution, and the consequent protests to the "authorities from Mr Herbert Cummins, British Charg6 d 'Affaires, was reported to be largely responsible for the diplomatic breach as a result of which Mr Cummins was withdrawn from Mexico. The murder occurred after his return to England.]
