A pathetic' tragedy is reported at Wilsorton, a surburb of Toowoomba. Mrs Trapp visited the homo of relatives two miles distant and informed them that she. had cut . the . throats o£ her two children, Ethel, aged four, and Jane, aged three. She added that, after washing the bodies and bandaging their throats, she put the dead children back in bed, and placed a wreath upon them, and then attempted suicide hy cutting her throat. ' The woman is apparently suffering from dementia. MAN FOR TRIAL. (AXTSTXALUX AJfB V.Z. CA3UE AS&OCUTIOX.) (Received November 17th, 7,40 p.m.) • SYDNEY, November 17. Alfred "William Minnes was committed for trial for murdering a barmaid, "Winifred Foley, at Petersham, in September. Evidence was given that the couple had been keeping company until deceased discovered that Minnes was ■ a married man. She then sought police intervention to prevent him pestering her. On the morning of the tragedy they quarrelled over the return of the engagement ring which Minnes gave her. Subsequently the quarrel was renewed in the- street, and the shooting followed. Police: gave evidence that Minnea' said he shot Foley because she tantalised him, and he was not going to let anyone else have her.
