Before the- lloyal Commission enquiring into the administration of the Kew Asylum, Dr. Ellery said the alleged intoxicating liquor which the nurso eaid he brought into the asylum was a cordial. He could not recollect telling aay indecent story to a nurse. Patients had to be bathed in tho open while the bathroom was being repaired, 'because there was no piace inside. He had performed a certain operation on male and female patients, to demonstrate to' the nurses who were btudying for examinations.
