Kichic (College road) motored back from Moeraki on Saturdav to W annate. MrsE, Marshall (Hampden) is the guest of Mrs T. Harris (Cain street). Tho Weather. After a threatening appearance on Fridav night, the sky cleared on Saturday morning and the day was one of intense heat, for the most part vmtempered bv wind. The temperature reached S3 degrees in tho shade and the followers of the move energetic forms of sport' had an uncomfortable time. Caroline Bay was crowded with bathers during the afternoon. General Ne-ws. Another motor accident occurred in Timaru on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Church street and Grey road, two cars colliding. Fortunately no one was hurt, but one of the ears had a wheel completely splintered. The annual sale of work by the Wilson street Baptist Church was opened on Saturdav afternoon by the Pastor, the Eev. 11. C Goring. The proceeds this year will be divided between tho extinguishing of the Church debt and the Manurcwa Home, and a large sum was raised as a result of the effort. The stall-holders were kept busy all the afternoon and again m the evening, when a number of musical items Averc also supplied.
