At tho Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show yesterday Mr H. Aker's American importation The Triumph, secured first prize, ana Mr C. E. Lindsay's Sonoma Harvester, was second in tho trotting aill^ n class. In the pacing division, Mr if. Watson's Brent Locanda secured first award, and Mr A. Hendrikscn's .heal Guy was second. Mr W. Loehhead s Marion, by Advocate—Mermaid, was first in the trotting brood jnaro class. Mr C. J. Allen'4 Majestic, by JM Carbine—Parole Bells, .won tho two and three-year-old class in trotting, Air W. Shaffer, with a chestnut colt by Brent Locanda—Miss Alexia, taking the pacing prize. Mr G. F. Clarke's Stiver Chimes, bv Four Chimes— Glenowrie, secured first award in th© trotting mare or geldinn- clas«. while Mr W. I>. tiniris, with Lady Bountiful, by Logan Pointer—Dollar Princess, won m tue pacing division. Our Wellington correspondent telegraphs:—Applications are still coming in to the Minister for Internal Affairs, asking for totalisator permits. Apparently the 31 extra permits will not go very far among the numerous applicants.
