There are many reports in the Manawatu district of the rapid increase of thft hedgehog (saya the "Manawatu Daily Times"), and a corresponding <UBappc«aiice of slugs and snails from the gardens. The domestic watehdog reseats tho intrusion; aiid if loose will kill a full grovra, well quilled animal, though often with painful results irom this encounter. If on the the dogs bark furiousy at these Btrangers.
