PLUCKY MAORI BOYS.

RESCUE FATHER FROM MAD BULL. (PRESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGSAK.) BLENHEIM, November 13. Two little Maori boys, aged about ten and twelve years, rescued their father from almost certain death at the horns of a mad bull. They boldly attacked the infuriated animal with sticks and drove it away andi ultimately secured it.

. Jack McDonald, of Wairau, was leading the bull down the Pukaha Valley suddenly jerkedi itself free. On McDonald atempting to secure it it lowered its head and charged. The horns pierced MoDonald's side deeply. He was tossed in the air, and flung unconscious to the ground. The maddened animal again chargedi the prostrate man, but his two little sons heroically rushed to the rescue, armed with only sticks, with which they belaboured the bull and drove, it off. They secured it by means of a, nose ring before summoning assistance tor their father.

McDonald was conveyed to he Wairau Hosjpital, where he. wasi found to b» suffering from a wauiyi in tho side caused by the bull's horns and from a broken rib, together with other injuries and abrasions.

■ Settlers throughout the district have been aroused by tho heroic action of the two boys and steps are being taken to have their action recognised'.
