On the strength of information furnished by the Salvation Army, a locksmith named Kertesz was -arrested in connexion with the plot to assassinate the Hungarian ltegent, Admiral Horthy. Kertesz went to the Salvation Hall where he confessed to the Colonel that he had been provided with Eve hand grenades and a revolver. The colonel immediately communicated' with the nolice. Two Communists, accompanying Kertesz, were also detained.
Owing to the collapse of Alderman Walker while hurrying to tho Court, the Cropley Commission was unable to proceed in Sydney yesterday. A doctor testified that Alderman Walker s condition, was such that lie probably would bo unable to attend for some time. 1

It is predicted by some of the world's leading engineers that within the next three years the petrol engine, as wo know it to-day, will be on tho scrap heap, its place being taken by a true pressure turbine with a thermal efficiency of about 80 per cent, instead of tho present 22 per cent. Further, this, or rather that, engine, will enable the clutch, gear box, differential, and cardan shaft to be discarded.
