SOCIAL GATHERING. I The Southlarider Society of Canterbury held its seoond gathering last night in the JeJ.licoo ■ Hall, the president, Mr G-. V. Cress, presiding over an . attendance of about 200, including many visitors from Southland. After the visitors were welcomed by the president, a'concert was-held, items being given. by the following Jadiea and gentlemen:—Miss Gregor (Highland Fling), Mosdames Wirigfield and Yerntizoni unci McGil'livray (songs), and Messrs Taylor, L. Kingsland and Woodward (songs). Subsequently card-.playing was indulged in, and an enjoyable dance held.
