Mr Robinson, who is a graduate of Canterbury College, is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs I. Robinson, of Papanui. Mr P. A. Young, postmaster at Waimatc for three and a' lialf years, will retire on superannuation at the end of the month, after 40 years' servico. He Trill be succeeded by Mr A. W. At a meeting cf the Wanganui Qty Council last night Mr F. P. Talbbys resigned the positions of engineer and manager of the City Tramways and Electrical Department in order to enter into business on his own account. Mr A. E, Cheal, assistant engineer, was appointed 'to succeed Him. •

At the conclusion of the ceremony of opening the Bridge of Remembrance yesterday his Excellency the Governor- 1 General, who is hon. Colonel of the Sixth Man'awatu. Mounted Rifles, presented Lieut-Colonel. E. J.Hulbert, of that unit, roth the ' Colonial Forces Auxiliary Officers' Decoration for 20 years' service. Lieut.-C<?lonel Hulbert is a son of a former Mayor of Christchureh, Mr C. P. Hulbert. >

The Rev. T. Amptir, pf Invernegsshire, Scotland, passed through Christchurch, en route for Dunedin, yesterday. Mr Armour, who was accompanied by his wife and four children, has accepted a call from the congregation of Knox Qhurcfy Christchurch, hut proceeded on to Dunedin to visit Relations in that city before returning here- for induction into his new charge. Mr and Mrs Armour were met at the Ghrstchurch station yesterday by Mr. and Sdrs H. E. Perry, Mr and Mrs F. J. Wilkinson, Mr and Mrs W- Goss, Measrs Jameo Seid, A. H. Lindsay, and F. *W. Greeham. They will return from Dunedin on Montday week, and Mr Armour . will be inducted the following tday.
