I CANTERBURY AMATEUR ■'( . CHAMPIONSHIP. > ; The final of the Canterbury Amateur Bil.liards Championship was played in the R.S.A. rooms last night between J. Martin (Pioneer) and Symons (Pioneer). The game was 500 up and- Martin won the champion-' ship by 372. , . ' ' All through the game ■Martin's play was superior to that of Symons, and he made a splendid average, 'rhe beat breaks were 64, 62, 44, 36, 24 and 31. Symons put up a losing fight from the start. He was unlucky for the greater part of the game, and the balls rolled badly for Mm. He made a very poor average, his be3t break being 21. < The total scores were: Martin 500. Symons 128. . , : .
