THE BIG CARNIVAL.
TO-MORROW NIGHT, AT SHOW grounds.
The-steps of many-thousands of people will turn towards the Show Grounds,' Addington, to-morrow night, when tho big Night Carnival Do Luxe of the Canterbury A. and P. Associatirn iTi!I be held in conjunction -with tbc Metropolitan Show. .A, wealth of entertainment will be put on at this carnival, which will last from. 7 till 10 o'clock, and several oi the horsemanship events should prove exceedingly exciting. Included in the programme will bo Handicap Pony Events for ponies 14 hands and under, to be. ridden' bv bovs .or girls under 16 years of age:' Go-as-you-please Pony Events for ponies 1hands aad tinder to be ridden by boys or girls 13 years and under, Musical Chairs, Gretna Green Race, Victoria. Cross Race,' Bending Race and Flag- Race. The Boy Scouts are also putting on a very fine programme which will be of considerable interest to manv. It includes Rallies, Hakas, etc., Wolf Cu'o3' Display, Tent Pitching, Bridge Building, Master-at-Arms' Display, Ambulance work, Fire Fighting, and Life Saving and Physical Drill. It will ba possible to inspect with ease and comfort tho many exl-ibits at tho Show, and tho whole of ihe numerous Side Shows wiil bo in full operation. Post entries will bo received by Ilic secretary of the Association, Mr G. G. De'nniston. A splendid programme of music will be p'.iived by Dcrry's Band, and the grounds, including the oval, will be a blaze of elcctrio light. Admissiw to the Night Carnival will bo Is for adults and 6d for children, and arrangements have been made whereby the tram-fare will be only -Id.
