On Tuesday-of. last week, while the Cathedral, bellringers were at practice, a tongue weighing about 60 pounds fell from a bell and crashed on to the floor beneath. An inspection made revealed the fact that tho bell affected was No. 6, tho tongue of which had broken from its bush. Repairs were carried out in time for tho chimes to be used again last Sunday. Subsequently the rebricking of six cf tho nine bells in tho tower was decided on and the tongues were sent to a local foundry, where the work is being carried out. It is exacted that the bells will be in ringing order again by to-morrow.
