" ♦—- - CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union met last night. Present: Messrs A. Dey A. E. McPhaii, ii. Davies, J- K. Moloney, C S. McOu.ly, W. Maxwell, W. Britten, \V. Duggan, E. Y. Phillips, C. W. A-lard. H. North, R. W. Britton, "W. S. Seed, and J. O. McGillivray. It was decided to refuse an application for a refund of the expenses incurred by a team in visiting Rangioro. The Competition Committee submitted the following recommendations .--—That the firstgrade competition shal. be divided into two sections, the A section to comprise tho sis best teams, and the lowest team in the A section at the end of each season to be replaced the following season by the best team o: the B section; that the second trade should be subdivided as is the third Srade at present;' that the third grade remain as at presont in A, U and under 20 years' sections; that the classification .ists of all age limit players should be accompanied by the date of birth of each player, the onus- to be placed on the clubs -should any trouble arise over the ages of the plavers; that the weight limit for the seventh grade should be 7lb .heavier than the weight limit in the primary schools' ordinary competition, the boys to be weighed on the day the preliminary' round is played; that ,no' entries should be. accepted un.css.theclub entering teams has a ground, any club- entering six teams or more to provide the -rounds; that all new clubs seeking affiliation' must provide 75 per cent., of new plavers; that no late entries should be accepted except at the discretion of the Competition Committee. It was decided that a copy of the report b« sent to all members of management committees and that a special'meeting be caded to consider the recommendations.
