——*- A. niccthigr of the Sumner School Committee was: held on Monday evening-. Pre-, sent—Mr-Or.A. Ale.-otncler (chairman), lies-, dames F. Barber and J. Ltc, and MescreC J. Browne, G. F. Newman, \V. C. Collin3, and J. Ta.it. Correepondencs from the Education Board stated that minor alterations would bo made <o comply with . the suggestions, of tho fire inspector. It was decided to congratulate W. Merritt, an old scholar, on. liis rccont athletic success, and to extend an invitation to the chairman of of Education Board to attend the annual prize giving. The chairman reported on the District High School proposa, 1 , and it was resolved t> call a pubic meeting to-morrow, at 8 p.m. It was agreed to endeavour to hold the annual picnic early in February at Little River. The sub-committee was empowered to arrange detai's. Tho headmaster reported that the roll number was 369.
