WANTED—A DOCTOR.
TO THE IDITOft or "THE sbbss." Sir,—Would it be possible to institute a system, like the all-night dispensary) by -which one could make _ sure of securing a doctor at any hour? At half-past two this morning I met a man in the Square who had vainly endeavoured to obtain a doctor for his sick wife. He had used all his copers at a slot and wanted a fresh siipply. I was able to oblige <and went with him to the slot, -where he rang up another batch of medical men. Not one would move. Judging by the replies, there must have .been a fine crop of babies turned out before breakfast! -Nearly every doctor was waiting to go to :i confinement! P'raps! P'raps not! Anyhow the distressed husbsnd could get no relief, so I persuaded him to get a taxi and take his "old Dutch" to the Hospital, where she was sure of prompt attention at expert hands. — Yours, etc., EARLY BIRD. Nov. 3rd.
