LINWOOD TENNIS CLUB.
10 THE EDITOR OF "THE rBESS." Sir,—lll view of the paragraph appearing in this morning's "Press'' to the effect that the committee of tho Linwood Tennis Club intends to resign <?n ; bloo should" tho motion authorising Sunday tennis., to be moved on Tuesday • evening next, be carried, the committee of that club -wishes to give an, emphatic denial to this statement and has requested mo to ask you to publish tho following resolution which was passed unanimously at a committee meeting-held-on Thursday evening last. Tho resolution reads as follows: "This committee considers that a decision inaugurating Sunday tennis on tho club's .courts would not be in tho best interests of the club, and would jeopardise the club's position at this critical time." .Regarding tho moral aspect of the question, the committee is not unanimously opposed to Sunday tennis, and, after full consideration, passed the above resolution believing it to be in the best interests of the club at the present juncture.—Yours, etc., S. JAMESON, President. Christchurch, November Ist. [The information contained in. the statement which in "The Press" on Saturday was supplied by a member of the committee. Tho facts are confirmed, with the exception noted above, that all tho committee did not intend to resign should Sunday tennis be earned, but. only; a portion of the I committee, including - the president. I Ed. "The Press."]
