Jumble Sain. A very .successful jumble sale in aid of the funds for the children's Christmas Tree ■was held in the Foresters' Hall yesterday afternoon, under tho auspices of Court Queen of the Isles. The stallholders were: .Produce, Mesdames W. Donnelly and O. Taylor; swpets. Misses D. .Tones. M. Wright, and H. Bnrtenshaw; jumble, Mesdames G. Geavley (2), Ij. Thomas, and Cave; novelty, Mesdames .T. Perry, W. Cummins, E. Barraclough, Hnd M. Johnston; cako stall, Mesdames Nixon, E. G. Allen, W. Stephenson; bran tub, Mesdames Haley and Burtenshaw. Eainfall. For tho 18 hours ending noon yesterday, 555 in of rain were Tccorded. The total rainfall for October was 3.5!) in, compared with .4675 in in October, lf>23, and .40m for October,. 1922. Kain fell on 12 days during the month (ten and eight days respectively for October, 1923 and 1922), the maximum fall being recorded for 24 hours ending noon Monday, October 20th, when 1.445 in foil. The average fall per day was 116 in, and the average fall was .30in. The total rainfall for 1924 to date is 16.445 m, with 87 wet days, compared with 17.65 m, with 103 wet days, for tho corresponding period of 192u. K.A.0.8. The IMtelton Lodge of tho 8.A.0.8. met on Thursday night, Primo J. Churcher presiding. Tho Social Committco reported that the recent annual ball had been a. marked success, both socially and. financially. Tho election of officers results as follows j—b.l., Primo E.Hobbs, C. On Labour Day a picnir. for seamen was held at Diamond Harbour. The Thursday evening concert was given ■by tho Christchurch Ladies' Guild, items being as foi)ows: —pianoforte solo, Miss Marks; song; Mrs W. Wilson; song, Miss tfpratts; accordion solo, Mr lies; duet, Mr and Mrs Wilson; song, Mr Spratls. The president of tho Christchurch Guild, Mrs 11. I. •). Thacker, and Mrs George Hamner were present, and supervised the. supper given the seamen at the close of tho concert. Picnic.
