JEDDAH IN PERIL.
WAHIBIS THREATEN ATTACK. (bt ca«lx—press association copyright.) (BSUTEB'S TELIGEAMS.) LONDON, October 31. Advices from Port Sudan state that an attempt by tho leading residents of Jeddah and Mecca to arrange terms •with the Wahibis failed. The representative of the Wahibis in Mecca says that peace is impossible while Ali remains on the throne. This appears to be an insurmountable obstacle. Jeddah is now in a state of defence. Military preparations «re being made to resist the threatened attack, and reinforcements are coming to Jeddah from Akaba. Many of the population are leaving.
