(sriCUli TO "TBI PBISS. I^ TIHARU, October 20. The Tirnaru A. and P. Association's Show was commenced at tho Show Grounds, Smithfield, tc-day in warm weather. A strong north-west wind nwde conditions somewhat unpleasant for a time, but it died away towards the evening- and the prospects for "People's Day" to-morrow are promising. Ths total number of entries, 1496, exceeds lasi year's by five. There is a. considerable falling off in tho wool entries, but the sheep entries, totalling 303, exceed last , year's by 14, Cattle entries have, increased '''~by 56, totalling 200 for this year. Tho busi- • new of tho day was confined chiefly to theinduing of sheep, cattle, horses, wool, etc., and tew of the public were present. The remsinder oi tho classes will come before tho judges to-morrow, and it is expected that toero will bo a large attendance. PRIZE LIST.
