CANTERBURY MARKETS.
(bt OU» COJIUEBCIAL SDrroa.) Tuesday Evening. The holiday broke into the current of *rhat little business there has been doing, and there is practically nothing new to report since the week-end.. The last week's vessel for Auckland took practically 1000 sacks of potatoes. There, have been a few enquiries from Auckland, but little business as a result. It is understood that stocks held in Lyttelton have been fairly well cleared. The season is to all intents and purposes now over, though there may be a spasmodic spurt, within the next fortnight. This is dependent on the extent of the blight reported in the Pukekche crops. Quotations are £o os on trucks for whites and £4 los to £5 for reds.
The condition of the wheat crops as a result of the month's rains is, according to reports from all quarters, verv sntisfactory, but it is not expected that this will obviate the necessity to import extensively. The following are the quotations to be paid to farmers at country stations, free of commission, sacks extra, except where otherwise stated: —
Chaff-HB7 15s. . Oats—B Gartons i"s 6d. White Clarer—ls 4d to Is 6d. Cowgrass—9d to lOd. Partridge Peas—6s to 6s od. Italian Ryegrass—os 9d to 6s. Perennial Ryegrass—os 9d to 6s. Cocksfootr-To 9d. Linseed—£l7 15s. Barley—os. Potatoes—£s 5s for whites, to £5 for Dakotas.
Flour —£15 10s a ton. Pollard —£6 10s f.o.b. main ports; 10s extra for smaller packing. Bran —£5 10s per ton f.o.b. main ports; 10s extra for smaller packing.
RANGIORA MARKET.
The yarding at the Rangiora market, yesterday consisted of 891 sheep and lambs, 18 head of cattle and 340 pigs. A few shorn fat sheep were included in the entry, the prices obtained for which vrere —Wethers, 33s to 34s sd, and ewes 26s 3d to 30s. . The sales of stores were 48 aged ewes and 53 lambs at 18s 5d all counted, 71 ewes, 74 lambs at 21s lid, .46 ewes and 43 lambs at 22s 7d, 68 ewes and 73 lamb 3 at 20s, 24 ewes and 27 lambs at 24s 3d, and 27 ewes and 35 lambs at 25s 6d. Other lots were: 79 hoggets at 24s lid, 37 at 24s 6d and 28 ewe hoggets at 25s 3d. Cattle—Best springers made from £5 to £lO, inferior £1 lCs to £3 10b, springing heifers £2 10s to £7, store oowb £1 10s to £2 10s, yearling' heifers £2, and bulls £5 to £9 10s.
Pigs—lncluded in the entry there were 110 fats, the prices realised for which sjbowed a decline of 10b a head, compared with those of the previous sale. The best baooners in ado from £i 15s to £5, light baconers £?, lis to £4, best porkers to £3 10s, and Jight £2 7s to £3 Bs. The store pigs sold well, the best making 54s and Bmaller 35s to 475. There was also % food demand for the weasers, the best selling at 30s, ffnd small sorts 20s to 275. Poultry-—Roosters eold to 10s a couple, hens 6s 6d ducks ss. Produce Chickwheat 20s to 24s a Parley 225, seconds peas 20a, oatsheaf chail Cs to Bs, straw chafi to 4s 6d. table potatoea Srf'to lite, swedes Eb to Bs, rhubarb 4d a bundle.

ASHBURTON MARKET.
The entry at the Aahbnrton yards yesterday comprised 239 fat ewes, 128 fat wethers, 10 spring lambs, 2B fat hoggets, 693 stores, anjd 22 head of cattle. The market lacked animation, and there was an all round drop in prices of 2s per head, while an unusually large number of the lots offered were passed at auction. Primo fat ewes made 45s to 50b 4d, and second quality 36a 3a to 42s 3d. Wethers, realised 48s Sd to 57s 6d. The principal sales were; — Ewes—B at 33s 9d, Bat 60s 4d, 9 at 47s 6d, 7 at 44s 6d, 7 at 47s 6d, 8 at 41s 3d, 2 at ■sos 3d 6 at 455, 8 at 42s 6d, 6 at 42s 3d, 12 at 36s lOd,' 3 at 42s 3d, 6 at 41s 3d, 3 at 47s 3d, 4 at 36s Bd, 12 at 39s 3d, 10 at 37s 6d, 7 ftt 36s 9d, 7 at 375, 5 at 38s 9d, 7 at S9s, 5 at 39s 9d, 4 at 33s 9d, 8 at 375, 9 at 38s 6d. Wethers—4 (shorn) at 86s 6d, 3 ftt 57a 6d, 14 (shorn) «t 36s 6d to 48s 9d. Stores—-Out of the 693 offered, 381 were passed at auction. The eales were: 30 mixed sex halfbred: hoggets at 349 Bd, 70 shorn four-tooth ' halfbred Corriedale ewes at 37s 6d, 106 failing-mouth crossbred ewes and 106 lambs (all counted) at 24a. Cattle—A fat steer brought £4 10s, fat heifers £lO 2s 6d to £ll 7s fid, cows m profit £2 to £5, and springers £3 lo«.

DALGETY AND CO., LTD.
Dalgety and Company,' Limited, hare received cabled advice from their London house that the annual meeting will be held on November 13th. The Boanl will recommend a final dividend of 5 per cent., making with interim dividend, 10 per cent, for the gear ended June 30th last; also a bonus of 7a per ehare, making 17 per cent, for the year. The dividend and bonus will be jityablb on November 17th. The Board recommend writing down premises by £50,000, and increasing the Staff Provident Fund by £05,000, leaving £170,000 to be carried forward..
FROZEN MEAT MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, under date October 23th:—
"Frozen Meat—Lain j, 12id per lb (average); mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light BJd per lb, heavy 7£d per lb; ewe, light. 6Jd per lb, heavy 6Jd per lb. Market steady."
EGG AUCTION.
Messrs Harris Bros., Ltd., report _that the usual weekly auction sale of Fea£her orand guaranteed fresh eggs, ' on behalf of the Canterbury Egg Farmers' Cooperative Association, was held in their rooms, 158 Hereford street, yesterday afternoon.
