Th-s- evening classes will resume at tho Technical College on. Monday, 18th inst., and intending students are requested to enrol next week. The attention of the adult deaf, both men and women, is directed to tho advertisement appearing in another column, regarding tho Lip-Reading Class, which 13 conducted by Mr J. M. B. Crawford, Director of the School for the Deaf, Sumner. A horticultural show will bo held in tho Pa-panui Town Hall to-morrow and on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 10 pjn. Over 900 entries have been received. In tho evening selections will bo given by tho Papanui Orchestra and tho Disio Jazz Band. Canterbury retail watchmakers' and jewellers* premises will be closed on Saturday on tho occasion of the annual picnic. A junible sale vnll be held in tho Avonside club room on Saturday. "The Millennium" is the subject of an address to bo given by Pastor Robert Hare, of Sydney, to-night, at tho. Seventh Day Adventiat camp, Papanui.
