BOWLING.

SOUTH CANTERBURY CENTRE. (special to. "the press.") TIMARU, February 5. A meeting of the- South Canterbury Bowling Centre was hold this evening, Mr- V 7. G-. Hadlee presiding. Others present were: Messrs R. F. Provan, C. E. TorTesse, F, B. Hawkey, J. K. Millar,. L. Dewar, J. lioyes, H. Keen, and A. Thoreau (secretary). The North Otago Centre wrote asking if the South Canterbury Centre had considered the question oi the annual Centre match and suggesting February 23rd as a suitable date. Mr Torlesse said that Timaru had fixed that date for a match with the Phcenis Club, Oamaru. It was decided to suggest to the North Otago Centre that the Centre match be played on March Sth. Tha Christchurch branch of the Sew Zealand Bowling Association wrote expressing their appreciation of the hospitality extended to the Christ-church players on their visit to Timaru. for the Christmas tournament. It was agTeed to suggest March 15th for the match between Canterbury and North Otago, at TYaimate. Dates or other matches were* fixed as follows:—Singles, February 23rd; pairs,_ March Ist; final "of the four rinks championship, February 16th.
