Fielder, proceeded against Frank Cleveland Hogarth, butcher, Colombo street, for failing to close hiß shop at 12.45 p.m. -on Saturday, December 22nd, 1923, and also for employing a worker, Michael Scollaxd, alter 1 p.m. on that date. The inspector asked for a £2O penalty. Judgment was given for tho plaintiff for £4 and costs. MOTOR .CYCLE CLAIM. Allen Wilson, poultry farmer (Mr W. P. Tracy), claimed from F. Patterson, cycle merchant of Papanui (Mr A. L. Hobbs), a motorcycle valued at £3O, and £5 damages for its detention. Defendant counter-claimed £2 for repairs to the motor-cycle. The Magistrate said it, was a case of oath against oath as to whether £2 had been tendered or not. He was not satisfied that the money wa3 tendered. Plaintiff was non-suited on the claim end judgment was given for the defendant on the counter-claim. KAIAPOI. . (Before Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M.) John Mokomoko, charged, with carrying a loaded rifle at Tuahiwi, other than for soma lawful and sufficient purpose, and contrary to the Arms Act, 1920, was fined £5 and costs 7s, The weapon was forfeited. In C. Ashby' v. E. Young, chum £1 ss, judgment was given for plaintiff by default with costs Bs. In Bate and Hoskin v. D. and I. Karaitiana, £25 l£s, an order was made foi payment of tie amount c.'aimed by instalments of 20a per week, the first payment to be made on February 11th, 1924. In Charles S. Thomas (Mr M. Greseon) v. H. W. Childs (Mr K. Gresson), claim for possession of chattels, judgment was reserved.
