INVESTIGATION OF TURKISH ATROCITIES. AMERICA TO PARTICIPATE. (By Cable—Press Association—'Copyright.) (Australian and' N.Z. Cable Association.) Received June 4th, 11.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 4. In spite of previous reports to the contrary, Mr Hughes has announced that the United States is prepared to join in the investigations into Turkish atrocities in Anato.io, proposed by Great Britain, France, and Italy. The United States has also suggested a separate commission to be formed to investigate the Turkish counter charges against the Greeks and Armenians, and that the two commissions unite in a comprehensive report on the entire situation in Asia Minor. Mr Hughes stipulates that the United States assumes no further obligation, and enters on no commitment. Her purpose in participating in the investigation is to enable her to determine her future policy in relation to the authorities concerned.
