At the request of Canada, Che Commonwealth Government has forwarded proposals for reciprocal trade between Canada and Australia. • WELLINGTON HIDE MARKET. The fortnightly sales of sheepskins, hides, and tallow were held at Wellington on Friday. The brokers report that competition was keen for dry sheepskins, and prices showed an advance of Ja to id over last sale rates, while salted skins, sold at about par. Hides were dull, and prices receded for most lines. Heavy ox were not sought, and were lower by about ljd. Medium and light ox were easier. Cow hides _ were also slightly lower. Calfskins were higher; we obtained, up to 17d lor a medium line. Tallow, in casks and tins, was about 2s 6d per cwt lower.
