The British engineers' ballot was heavily in favour of accepting the employers' proposals, and it is anticipated that the men will soon return to work. Separations. Doubt is expressed by the German Minister of Finance as to tho ability of Germany to meet her obligations. The Little Entente. It is believed in Bucharest that Poland will soon join the Little Entente. American Agriculture. It is alleged that Japanese farmers are gaining a strangle hold on the agricultural industry in Western America. Oyman Goods. of German manufacturers are seeking to place orders in Australia. Arctic Exploratiou. Captain Amundsen's party to explore tho Arctic has sailed from Nome for Alaska. Aeroplane Mishap. A French aeroplane fell into the sea near Folkestone, the passengers and pilot being drowned. Explosion in Colliery. Seventeen miners were killed and many injured through, an explosion in a colliery near Essen. British Shipping. Lord Inchcape says that the British Mercantile Marine has little to fear from the rest of the world. China. The Republican Parliament has been convened, and has adopted a programme aiming at the unification of China.
