UNION SECRETARY FINED TOR TRESPASS. (press association telegram.) "W ELLINGTON, June 3. Charles Grayndler, secretary 0 f the New Zealand branch of tho Australian \\ orkers' Union, appeared at the Magistrate's Court, charged with trespassing on premises occupied by liis wife duxing the currency of a separation order, ills wife gave evidence that Grayndler came to. too house late at night, abused ner and told her she must get out, as he wanted to Fell the house. She and the children were terrified by his conduct, bhe sent for the police, who removed brayndler, but the latter returned, and waa again abusive.

The ponce gave evidence that Grayndler was under the influence of liquor. The defendant said there had been three separation orders, but the wife and he had been reconciled on former occasions. He went to the house to see if the Court could present him seeing his children. He denied returning to the house after he left with the police. After further evidence, the Magistrate said he was convinced that Grayndler went to the house to see if his wife would take him in, and so liberate him from the order. A fine of £5, in default three months' imprisonment, was imposed Defendant: I won't pay it. The Magistrate: Then take it out. Defendant : You won't give a man a ohance to explain to the Court. The Magistrate: Don't you be impudent, or I will send you to gaol for seven days.
