A most ffuocepeful oonoert was given by tho Juvenile Merrymakers, a talented puty from Christchurch, most of tho members of which are well known" in competition work, in the Club Hall, Heathcote Valley, on Saturday ovening. The ooncert was in aid of a fund for improvmp th« school ground, woent ch&ngee, including tho demolition of the schoolhouso, making considerable improvements necessary. The hall was crowded and a substantial sum was realised. Tho Juvenile Merrymakers are under tho direction of Mr L. A. Moling, and Miss Dorothy Wicks was pianiste and oonductrwa of the orchestra. In addition to several concerted numbers, itemß were given by Misses Hazel Shier, Margaret Greenlees, Grade McCaw, Gwen Shier, Alice Greenlees, Valerie Tolputt, Gwennie Ryde, Catherine Greenlee*, Alice Chanman, Ethel Howard Myra Poltod, and Masters Varoy Barron, Colin Dunlop, Jimmy Wicks. After the concert a dance was held until midnight. Golf. The Lyttelton Golf. Club played a medal match at Charteris Bay during tho week-end, with tho following results:—B. Erwin 73, R. Candy 78, S.
