J©**** Schoolroom yesterday •Jtertoon to raise funds towards converting the old schoolroom into a social hall for the parishioners ot St Joseph's Church. The promoter* have every reason to be eatisfied with the success of their efforts, as, although it was intended to keep the bazaar open in the evening, all the goods were disposed of by 6 pJn,, » substantial amount being realised. Coming of Age. A -very enjovable evening was spent »t the home of Mr and Mrs G. Porteous, Oxford street, on Thursday evening, when Mra Porteous gave a party to celebrate the coming of age cf her eldest daughter, Myrtle. A pleasant time was spent in gamee and music. BefreshmanU were handed round, and the evening was brought to a conclusion bv the singing of "For She's a JoUy Good Fellow." Among those present were a number of Christchnrch friends.
