HOOLEY'S SENTENCE.

APPEAL DISMISSED. (Received June 2nd, 8.40 p.m.) LONDON, Jane 1. Hooley's appeal was dismissed. •Ernest Terah. Hooley and others were charged with conspiracy to defraud in connexion with the flotation of the Jubilee- Cotton Mills, Ltd., Oldham. The prosecution alleged that one of the party induced Lewis, a, wealthy young Cardiff shipowner, to invest £60,000 by false statements. Lewis did not know of Hooley's connexion with the project, the latter studiously keeping in the background. Hooley was sentenced to three years' imprisonment.l
