ARCHBISHOP JULIUS.
RETURN FROM GENERAL SYNOD. His Graco Archbishop Julius will return to Christ:-hiircti this morning. He will be met at the railway station by the Dean of Christchurch and some of the clergy. On Tuesday nip-lit a public welcome will bo accorded him in the Choral Hall. The Dean of Christchurch will be in the chair, and the Mayor (Dr. Thaeker) und some of the councillors will attend. There will also be on the platform the chairman of the Board of Governors of Canterbury College (Mr 11. D. Acland), and members of the Board, the eub-warden (Mr G. Harper) and Fellows of Christ's College, representative clergy of the several churches,. together with some of the clergy of the. diocese. His Excellency the Governor-General has expressed his sincere regrets that engagements in Auckland prevent his being present. Tickets of admission for Tuesday night's welcome, at the nominal cost of sixpence, may be had from the clergy of Christchurch, or at the Melanesian depot, I(X> Gloucester street. An orchestra will play from 7.30 to 8, and one or two muskal items between the speeches will be given.
