OTAGO WINTER SHOW.

CANTERBURY SUCCESSES. The Otago A. and P. Society's Winter Show," which concludes at Dunedin today, attracted a number of Canterbury exhibitors, who were successful in securing a good percentage of the awards. Apart from the successes in the dairy section of the Peninsula factories, reported in Wednesday's issue of ''The Press," the following exhibitors were prominent: — In the class for bullocks, any age, six entries, Hedley Bros, (of Seadown) took first prize with a splendidly-finish-ed beast, C. Austin (Winchester) being third. Mr Austin was successful in tiio classes for under four and three-year-old bullocks, taking first prize in each, and first for steers under two years. The awards far cow, any age, went to C. Austin and A. J. Keith (Ashburton), the only exhibitors. The former was second in the under three-year heifer class. There was only one Canterbury exhibitor in the fat sheep classes, and he was unsuccessful. Mr Frank Steel, of Christchurch, wfio judged the fat stock, considered that he had never judged a better-finished lot of bullocks. In the fanners', butter classes, Mrs H. J. Fleming vßalcairn, North Canterbury) added to a long list of show successes. She was the outstanding exhibitor in this section, securing first"and second prizes in the class for 21b fresh butter (13 entries), first and second in 21b week-old butter (13 entries), and second in both sections of powdered butter (11 entries in each class). Mrs J. Campbell (Timaru) was second for Mb salt butter. In the grain section, R. R. GiHaiufcrs (Springfield) was first in the claps fur any named variety with, an exhibit of Solid Straw Tuscan. In the open seed classes, Wiicht, Stephenson and Co. (Christchiirch'j practically swept the board, securing f ir <t afford for perennial ryegrass, . fecund for Italian, first for Western first for cocksfoot, second for Timmiiv' first for crested dogstail, first for broadleaf rape, first for eowgrass, first for re] and for white clover, first for lucerne. first for partridge peas, and first for turnip seed.
