NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
A sale of work will bo opened in the "Wesley Church, Fitzgerald avenue, on Wednesday, June 7th, at 2.30 p.m. A grand social, euchre tournament, and dance will be held in the Art Gallery on Wednesday, June 7th, at 8 p.m., in aid of Lewisham Hospital. Entries for the Poultry Show close' on Jurfe 20th, with the secretary, Mr W. T. Wilson. The newly appointed Justices of the Peace are invited by the president and executive of the Canterbury Justices' Association to ba present with lady friends at the members' Patriotic Social, to be held in Jellicoe Hall, Gloucester street West, to-night. Mr J. J. Dousall will d 3 iver a patriotic address on '-Imperial Loyalty," and Mr F. C. Peniold is arranging a very fine musical piogiamme. Amongst these taking part are Misses Dyer and McGruer, and Messrs P. C. Penfold, W. H. Prescott, and T. D. Williams.
