PEACE OF THE WORLD.

A SUGGESTED ALLIANCE. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyrigiht.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received June Ist, 9.55 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 31. The Hon. H. N. Rarwell, Premier of South Australia, delivered a speech at a luncheon given by the English Speaking Union in whrich he expressed the necessity for close co-operation between the British Empire and the United States to assure the peace of the world. He was not able to formulate a plan by which this co-operation might be brought about, but this could be worked out by the statesmen of the two nations. It would be well if France would also join in, but in the event of France not seeing her way clear, the English-speaking peoples should take up the task of righting civilisation alone.
