j ANNUAL MEETING. I The annual mooting of the* Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association was IK-ld last night, the president (Mr \V. Stalker), presiding. Fne annual report stated that tho membership was now 402. The annual show was in every way a success ami the parade of prize et-ock, tho first for a number of years, was nn outstanding feature. Tho annual ploughing match also proved a great success, ami a, credit balance of £<xi resulted. Nothing liad been done during the year regarding the proposed new building on j the site given by Mr Charles Leech, but as the cost of material and labour was gradually coining down, something would Ih> done in the near future. The sum ot £1)36 3s 3d had so fur been collected for tho purpose. Thiring tho year the committee had carried out a number of improvements to the show grounds'. The finances of the Association were in a healthy condition, showins; an increase of assets over liabilities ot £IO3B 3s. During the year the Association had suffered f. severe loss through the death of Mr A. S. Clarksoil, who for 13 years had held tho ]>osition of secretary, for two years that of president, and for -three years that of treasurer. The balance-sheet showed that tho Association commenced the year with a credit balance of £2(55 Ss 7d and the receipts were £799 19s 7d, and tho total expenditure amounted to £IO4B os 7d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tno election of officers resulted ad follows:—President, Stalker; vice-presidents, Messrs \\*. A. Kelcher and C. Mcintosh; treasurer, Mr G. J. Leech; auditor, Mr C. I. Jennings; committee: Messrs J. E. Burns, J. B'.osnan, It. Boyd, It. o. Corbett, T. Cooper, W. Forrest, J. Fleming, Ben Furguson, J. Hiatt, T. Heney, T. S. Hanna, J. Inch, I. It. D. Johns, it. McDonald, W. J. Moir, It. Pe?ch, T. Pulley, D. G. Stalker, W. Smitli, C. E. Skevington, AV. J. Stracban, W. Scoon, 11/Tallott, and J. Wyllie. A motion of sympathy with Mr F. B. Glasgow in his serious illno-s was passed. At the conclusion of tlio business, a .smoke concert was held, and various toasts were honoured. The championship certificates won at tho last show in November were presented. • ■ Mr T. Leech, a past-president, presented tho Association with a large framed photograph of himself, for which lie was duly thanked.
