TO TUB EDITOK OF "THE TRESS. ' Sirj—l would like to know why the Government are foo'ish enough to build a cold brick building for a high school at Rangiora and use ifc for nearly a year without a iire.place or any heating system and allow nearly one hundred children to sit- frozen to the bone pretending to study, and then when unable to stand the cold any longe; they are sent out to run and try ana get warm. Is this a reward to many parents who deprive themselves ot much that is necessary in order to give their children a good education r Is it not sowing the seeds ot consumption, rheumatism, and worse evils just at the age when they are liable to many such ailments? These children travel in cold trains from Waikari, Oxford, Cusfc and Kaiapoi and leave home from 7 a.m. and some return home as late as 7.30 p.m., often wet-footed. X would' sufigest that a medical man visit the school and report the temperature and danger of jf 6<)0I)S o N .
