Maori? living, at Rapaki have b'.en dissatisfied witu t:icir water supply, having- to rely to a large extent on rain water for hems, hold purposes. The question, of having a supply from the Lyttelton mains was brought up sorn> time ago, but the Natives then lu.d no moaey available for tin work. It ' proposed that a, main should be connect:* with the Council's main at the abattoirs and run into a reservoir just above the Pa.. The rservoir is to hold a supply suffici:nt to last, if necessary, six works, and in time of a water shortage at Lyttelton, could be shut off and fed only when there was water to spare. Service pipes f:om the reservoir would supply the horscholdrra. It is understood that an application will be made to the Lyttelton Boroug-h Council at it-s next meeting.
