INQUESTS. • The adjourned inquest concerning the death of Edward Samuel Darrall, who died in the Christcburch Hospital or. March 13th, from injuries alleged to have been received by l>eing knocked down by Robert Dasler, was concluded before the Coroner, Mr H. Y. \Viddowson, on Saturday. Dasler has been charged with manslaughter,, and committed for trial at the Supreme Court. Mr W. F. Tracy appeared for Dasler, wfiio said, in evidence, that he had never seen Darrell l>efore the day at the hotel. He did not know if Dvutjll was the man ujat died.

At this stage Dasler refused to give further .evidence, under his privilege, The Coroner found that Darre'l died from haemorrhage of the brain associated . with -a. fracture of the skull, caused by a fall, tlio result of a blow struck by Robert Dasler.

Another adjourned inquest concerning the death of William Gregg, n rangemaker, 54 years of age, who died in the Christ church Hospital as a result of injuries received l>y falling down the steps of the United Service dive on March 6th, was continued on Saturday, before Mr Wyvern Wilson, Coroner. Dr. L. M. King, a house surgeon at the Hospital, said Gregg had been adnutted to the Hospital in an unconscious condition. He had fliiielt very strongly of liquor. Later an operation on 'his skull was performed, as it was fractured, and there was pressure on the brain. Deceased had died aftor the operation.

The Coroner found that denth vns due to a fractured .sJcull. caused by deceased having fallen down the stairs.
