It was decided to open the season on Easter Saturday, the committee being recommended to arrange 1 a match with a Christchurch team. Resolutions were passed recommending the* Penin6ula Sub-Union to fix at least three rounds for the Senior Competition, and to arrange a Third Grade Competition, with a. limit on the age. of tho players. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr C. Glyrnvn, to affiliate with the Sports Protection Association. The president said he had much pleasure in presenting tho club with a cheque for 10 guineas, the same to be used in providing a silver cuo for annual competition amongst the Peninsula clubs, in a seven a-side tournament, to be played each year in Akaroa. The. president's generous donation was received with warmest applause. KAIAPOI CLUB. The Kaiapoi Buirby Football Crab ooenedits season on Saturday afternoon, with a match against Woodend, which was won by Kaiapoi by 14 points to 3.
