Steps are being taken to form a Country Party in consequence of the disposition of the Premier, Sir Walter Lee, to enact legislation of a Labour character without consulting the country members. Cooper, Mr Justice Real, and Mr Justice Chubb have retired, having reached the retiring age fixed by the Statute.
