JEWRY BOOK OF HONOUR. •tIn the "British Jewry Book of Honour," a monumental volume of 1000 pages, edited by the ltev. Michael Adler, D.5.0., the senior Jewish chaplain in France, the whole story of the services rendered by British Jews to their country during the Great War is told for the first time. The "British Jewry Boqk of Honour" will, without doubt, as tho Chief Rabbi suggests in a prefatory note, ''find a place in every Jewish homo throughout the Empire." Lord Reading says: "The list of achievements is a fine one." Lord NorthclifFe, in a- letter to tlie editor, writes: "Our British Jews have played a splendid part in the war. They have provided us with one of the finest generals of all—Monash, the head of the Australian Army—and many other officers of distinction. "Although the Jewish population of the Empire is comparatively small, Jewry has to its credit 5 Victoria Crosses, 50 Distinguished Services Orders. 242 Military Crosses, 80 Distinguished Conduct Medals, 303 Military Medals, and 374 Mentioned in Despatches. Nearly 9000 Jews in tho British Army alone fell in action or were wounded and missing, and missing, of course, means dead. The Jews are a cautious people, and not anxious to make war, but in this great conflict they waged it just as vigorously as they did in the wars of the Bible."
