KINDERGARTEN COMMITTEE.

The wont-lily meeting of tho Creche ftnd Free Kindergarten Committee was held at the Y.M.C.A. rooms. Mrs Peppier presided over a good attendance. It was decided to hold Kindergarten Day on April 12th in Victoria square. Mrs Taylor reported the Plullipstown Committee would undertake produce and flowers; the Selwyn committee, a cake stall; "Little Citizens," variety stall; "Sunbeam," books, competitions, etc.; Sydenham school, needlework. Mrs Peverjll announced the "Richmond Free Kindorgarton would hold their variety stall on Shakespeare Garden Day, April 22ud. Tho lion. secretary (Miss Tabart), Mrs J. R. Evans, and Mrs H. S. Batchelor were appointed the Tents and Advertising Committee. Mrs Pev-erill reported that satisfactory arrangements wore being made with regard to Shakespeare -Garden Day at Richmond. Reports from the schools were read, attendance and subscriptions as follows:—"Sunbeam," roll number 53, average attendance 36, subscriptions £3 16a 9d; Phillipstown school, roll number 80, average attendance 60, subscriptions £4 2s lOd; Sydenham sohool, number on roll oS, average 45.4; subscriptions £2 16s o£d; "Little Citi 26llß ' " school, number on roll 34, average 22.6, subscriptions £2 Cs Selwyn school, number on roll 53, average attendance 35.3, subscriptions for three weeks £2 8s 7<l; Richmond school, number on roll 46, average attendance 32, subscriptions £4 9? 9d. Miss Hull, supervisor, reported that Miss Dutton, supervisor of IXmcdin Kindergarten school, had paid a visit to the kindergarten schools in Christchurch, and had expressed herself as very much pleased with the schools and their progressive ideals and management. Miss Dutton also lately visited the kindergarten schools in Wanganui and "Wellington. Tho lattercity now possesses six schools with twelve students besides their complement of teachers._ In D lined in four schools were established, ond Miss button had sixteen students to tram.
