The hearing was set down for 10.30 to-day, but after an hour's wait the Magistrate, Mr W. • Meldrum, announced that the Minister had overlooked sending liis_ appointment, and he could not, therefore, hold the Court. He had sent an urgent telegram to the Minister, and expected the necessary authority would come to hand before 2 o'clock. If so, he would hold the Court then.
