The New Zealand ladies' swimming record for 880 yds was lowered by Violet Walrond at the Waitemata Swimming Club's gala at the tepid baths last evening. The previous Dominion ladios' record was held by Queenie Nuttall, of Napier. Misa Walrond had to do better than' 15min 3G l-6sec. Her attempt was successful. Sho swam tho distance in llmin 28 4-saeo, a reduction of' lmin 7 2-saec. She xpis not paced in her attempt.
