The- Central Committee of the Nationalist Tarty oh the Cape Province passed a resolution deploring the bloodshed on the Rand, and condemning the lawlessness there, but expressing the opinion that, the revolutionary elements secured the upper hand owing to the partial attitude of the Government and the feeling of despair amongst the strikers, who realised they had to conduct a hopeless battle against the combined power of the Government and the Chamber of Mines, assisted by a slavish majority in Parliament. STRIKERS PINED. CAPE TOWJv, March 29. Scores of arrests have been made in connexion with the recent strike, and fines ranging from £l2 to £ls inflicted.
