"I am not a Presbyterian," said Mr H. C. Eobinson at the secondary pupils' parents' meeting in Masterton on Saturday evening, "but it appears to me that'the Scots parsons make education part of their religion. Some time ago the Her. A. T. Thompson put up a great, but unsuccessful, fight for the high school. To-day his successor, the Rev. Mr Brown, has entered tho lists. This time it looks as if the cause ivill win. In referring to the remark later* (reports the "Age"), Mr Brown said it was part of a Scotsman's nature to value education.
